The Rose and Dolphin is peaceful, sunny and private, with a small balcony overlooking a gently running stream and native bush with sea views down through the garden. It sleeps 4-5 in one large spacious loft room, with a small fridge, and tea and coffee facilities. Perfect for an individual, a couple, a family or friends. Downstairs is a shower and eco-friendly, Swedish-style composting toilet

1 king and up to 3 single beds.

The Garden Cottage

The Garden Cottage :
Simple, cosy & overlooking the beach.

The Garden Cottage is a simple, cosy, small cottage set in our garden, but overlooking the secluded sandy beach. It has a private, sunny and sheltered veranda. The next best thing to being at sea! Wonderful on a peaceful sunny day, a moonlit night or in a wild storm. Perfect for an individual, two friends or a couple. A honeymoon favourite! Facilities for making tea, fresh coffee, and a small fridge. Can sleep up to 3. There is an eco-toilet outside in an adjacent small building, and a private guest bathroom with shower and large clawfoot bath a short walk away in the main house.
1 king and 1 single bed. Not suitable for small children or older guests requiring shower and toilet in same area.

 

Sea Breeze Cottage

The Sea Breeze Cottage:
Spacious and private.

The Seabreeze Cottage is a new, beautiful, self contained and very special one bedroom cottage with a spacious open plan living design and a large wraparound deck.   Enjoy stunning views across to D'urville Island, the ocean,  the mountains beyond and gorgeous sunsets. Enjoy watching passing boats, dolphins and seabirds. 
An easy stroll down to our private beach, very private and peaceful and  a nice distance from and above our other accommodation and main house.  It has a  large king size bed plus  a wide comfortable window seat in the living area that can accommodate 2 individuals as well. It has a well appointed kitchen and bathroom, with an eco swedish style composting toilet.
Seabreeze Cottage is also available for self catered stays by special arrangement with a minimum stay of 2 nights, with an option to have dinner with our other guests down in the main house. It is also an ideal venue for a yoga or mediation teacher to lead a retreat-style workshop/weekend. Please contact us directly if you are interested in using all of Ngaio Bay, including this cottage. We can accommodate up to 7 (plus a teacher), with all meals catered. It is available from May to November 2012 for retreats. On special request, if available, at other times. It is also a perfect artists or writers retreat. Rate quoted at time of enquiry.


Bath under the sun or stars

Bath under the sun or stars: Private & overlooking the beach.

As a special treat, a private bath outside under the sun or stars is available for any guest to enjoy, in a setting that overlooks the beach, heated by fire, prepared by Roger, our resident “bathmaster”!

Children may have separate meals if you wish to suit your and their needs. Complimentary snorkeling gear.  We will take you fishing in our dinghy as a treat on request and weather permitting.

All guests can share our spacious, sunny timber home and sprawling verandas, large library, television, piano, good company and huge friendly table. Sourdough pancakes are a special family Sunday tradition. You can be as sociable or as private as you wish. Room service is available on request.  All meals can be supplied with a small wine list available. Scrumptious breakfasts, and dinners with desserts a specialty. "Food should always give the utmost pleasure".

$100 for each extra adult (up to 2).
Self catering - $250 / night for up to 2 adults (extra adults - $50pp)
Dinner by arrangement - $40 pp
